CCIE Certification requires a Written and Lab Exam

The focus is on identifying experts capable of understanding and navigating the subtleties, intricacies and challenges of end-to-end networking. To become CCIE Routing & Switching Certified, you must pass both a CCIE Written Qualification Exam and the hands-on Lab Exam.

CCIE Written Exam

First Step for CCIE Certification
The CCIE Routing & Switching Written Exams are computer-based, has 100 multiple choice questions Exam lasting 2 Hours. You must pass the Written Exam before you’re eligible to schedule CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam.

Scheduling and Payment
Payment and scheduling of Written Exams is arranged online through Pearson VUE, Cisco primary test delivery partner. You will need to have the correct Written Exam Number to register. You must also use the same Cisco Candidate ID Number for both Exams that you take, to ensure your results appear in your Cisco CCIE Profile.

Cost of Written Exam
Pearson VUE offers the CCIE Written Exams for $350 USD, and Beta Written Exams when available at a discounted price of $50 USD.

CCIE Lab Exam

Final Step for CCIE Certification
The Lab Exams are 8 Hours, Hands-on Exams that tests the Students ability to Configure and Troubleshoot Networking Equipment and Software.

Lab Scheduling and Payment
A valid passing score on a CCIE Written Exam is required to schedule a CCIE Lab Exam. Written Exam Scores are automatically downloaded from Pearson VUE. You will need the Cisco Candidate Identification Number you used to register for the CCIE Written Exam, the date of your passing the Written Exam and your Passing Score.

Cisco CCIE Lab Exams must be paid for at least 90 days before the scheduled Lab Exam date, or the reservation will be automatically cancelled. You will only receive one email notification reminding you to make your payment. You can verify the payment due date on a Lab Exam by logging in and viewing your Cisco Certification Status at Cisco website; http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/exam/index.html.
